Chocolate and Cheese!

What is better than the mole I hear you say?  Well chocolate and cheese is (of course).  As it turns out, Oaxaca is also famous for chocolate and cheese.

Chocolate (which you can buy by the Kilo) is mixed with almonds, chili and cinnamon then it is boiled with milk and served either hot or cold….. mmmmm tasty.

The cheese is stringy and similar to a slightly salty mozzarella in taste and texture.  It comes on almost everything, including a mole rojo and cheese tortilla.

Mmmm I will need to find a recipe for the cheese I think.

Yum - two of my favourite foods, together. When you get nostagic for Mexico, try chocolate wheaten biscuits with a slice of (New Zealand) cheddar on top - can be eaten as a sandwich. My dad taught me this one when I was just a gurl growing up in God’s Own Country. Sounds strange, tastes delicious.

PS Aus lost to NZ by 10 wickets, did you hear?
