El Tule - The Biggest Tree

While in Oaxaca we paid a visit to what was once thought to have been the largest bio-mass in existence.  The tree stands next to (actually, dwarfs) a church in the small town of El Tule.

Statistically speaking, the tree is between 3000 and 2000 years old, 42 meters high, 58 meters around and requires a 100 square kilometer basin for water.
